Mimicking the human hand is challenging. Our brains and nerves control quite a bit more than we realize in everyday life. The mechanical functionality and hardware throughout the SectionStar automated system uses precision tolerances and delicate systems to move things around, replicating the human histotechnologist in the laboratory
The human eye is made up of over 2M working parts and can differentiate over 10M different colors - a tall order for SectionStar to compare to. The vision system in our device is paramount to ensure that we are cutting a full cross-section of tissue. Using our proprietary technology, this previously manual process will now ensure no human error.
Facing & QC
The human brain controls our ability to think, talk, see, feel, hear and make decisions. This decision-making process is of utmost importance for SectionStar to replicate. In order to mimic a human, our device software communicates with each subsystem in real-time, while also providing bi-directional flow of information between the provider and the EHR.
