My mom was re-decorating the living room to prepare for a party next week. She was putting some Casablanca ceiling fans in all new colors and shapes. My dad will have his friends and colleagues come over for his 50th birthday party. I know that my dad will also announce his retirement there and I am so excited. After that party, he will have more time with me and my mom and that is all I ever wanted. No more paperwork in the dining table and no more late dinner for us.  We will have an everyday bonding until I go to college. But I am not thinking of that yet. It is his night and after that, it will be our night as family.

Mom bought a new spa filters for the tub for some guests are coming over this weekend. She asks me to help her do some cleaning and then we went to the mall for some stuff. I think she is meeting with some friends from high school and she feels that she needed to stand out. She was the only who just stayed at home and didn’t work after having three kids.

Actually, in my opinion, she didn’t have to impress them or anyone else for that matter, she did a great job while raising us three. It is a hard task to do especially if you play the father and the mother at the same time. If they will ask questions about her, I would proudly say she is the best!

My husband doesn’t like the fact that I always renovate the design and decorations at home almost every month. I am like that, I get bored with things if I always see them in the same place or see a piece no longer necessary for my mood. He thinks that I am over spending money but little does he know that I just recycle things at home. I have a part time job and I use the money I get there to redesign the house for my delight. I don’t just do this to impress people but to lighten up my mood.

Today, I was obsessed with lights, Hinkley lighting for that matter. It doesn’t just makes the house look warmer and welcoming, but it gives a little glow in every corner I place it. Wall lanterns are my favorite because it comes in different shapes and sizes. This time, it is not recycled material but it will eventually be when I redecorate again the house in two three months time.

A friend of mine ask me a favor which I couldn’t resist. I love doing baby announcements party and stuff and when she asked me to do it and help her with the invitations, I immediately answered yes! She is almost due and we have no time for long preparations, she said she only knew that she have to do it when she saw it online. Gosh! I freaked out with that and told her that all expectant mommies should do that. Well, she came to the right lace and person and I will make her the best possible baby announcement she’ll ever see.

My sister thinks that she can the house without my mom and my dad out there. My parents went for a vacation and they left my sister there alone because she got a job to attend to. My sister didn’t mind at all that she will be aloe for the rest of the holidays because she thinks it will make her more independent, at least for a week or so.

For me not to worry about anything, I gave her my shrink tube kits for the meantime, because I know that she might over extend the use of the Christmas lights. She wants a more lighted house for the people to know that she is not home alone and for her to do that, she had to put lights in each corner of the house and just to be safe, shrink tubes are very necessary. I just hope she knows how to use them.

I’ve been having a lot of thinking whether I would consider getting manufactured homes for my family. Apartments nowadays are really expensive and we can’t afford it anymore. I am also thinking a mobile home that we can own, at least even if we pay monthly for it, we know that in the end, it will be ours and that is the only way we can have our own home with the budget that we have.

It is decent nowadays because there are many families turning into those kinds of homes because these homes met federal guidelines and safety standards outlined by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (better known as the HUD Code). We are sure that we are safe in whatever disaster we will encounter in the future. If I can earn more and save more for the family, maybe then we can buy a real house.
